Bove, Juistino (J.B.) Marion, IN Juistino Bove died Saturday, Jan. 19 at Marion General Hospital after the culmination of more than a decade fight of emphsyema.
J.B was born Jan. 1, 1940 in Roccaseca, Italy to Luisa and Vincent Bove.He came to the U.S. in 1947 where he attended Bennett Catholic School and graduated in 1959.
J.B. enjoyed U.S. History which he majored in at Indiana University.He also had a strong interest in coin collecting.
In 1969 J.B. met his wife, Elisabetta, in Italy. Soon after their marriage they returned to Marion to raise a family of four children: Riva, Carmino, Sonia and Nadia.
J.B. worked 35 years at Thompson Consumer Electronics. He was dedicated to other business ventures including Mason Village and Westwood Square.
J.B. was a member of Meshingomesia Country Club for 25 years.
J.B. enjoyed playing golf and drinking wine with family and friends. He loved being surrounded by people. He cherished being both a husband and father, but ultimately his greatest joy in life was being a grandfather.
He honorably served in the U.S. Army where he specialized in morse code.
J.B. was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Luisa Bove as well as his brother Carmino Bove and sister Antoinette Grimaldi.
He is survived by wife, Elisabetta Bove of Marion, IN; son, Carmino Bove of Marion, IN; daughters Riva Bove-Whitton of Marion, IN; Sonia Gottfried of Ann Arbor, MI and Nadia Sharp of Austin, TX; grandchildren Anelese Bove-Whitton (8 years old), Dante Bove-Whitton (8 years old), Giuseppe Gottfried (4 years old) and Vincenzo Gottfried (8 months old); sons-in-law Andy Gottfried and Ken Sharp.
"You are as happy as you want to be" was a statement on how J.B. lived his life and encouraged his family to also follow.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. Marion, IN (765) 664-5030 with a vigil service at 6:00 PM.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Weisenberger officiating.
J.B. will be laid to rest in the Grant Memorial Park mauseleum. A reception to follow.
